Experience

I have worked with autistic children in classroom settings, as well as working occupational therapy with babies and toddlers, in language skills as well as learning shapes, numbers and colors. I have also worked as a preschool teacher for five years. I primarily work with elementary school children in reading and writing, as well as math. My ACT score was a 28. I want to be tutor because I have a passion for working with kids, and seeing their faces the moment that a subject they've struggled in becomes clear, or when they finish something that they never thought they'd be able to finish. I love seeing the moment that a child begins to believe in themselves as much as their parents and teachers and I do.

I have five younger siblings, and absolutely adore my family. I volunteer as a youth pastor with middle school girls, and have also volunteered as a swim coach. When I'm not in classes, or volunteering, I love being active and being outdoors. Sports are a huge passion of mine, and I like bringing that into my tutoring strategies, using sports to connect kids to various subjects. I am an author, and love reading and writing with whatever spare minute I can find. I would be honored to work with your child and to help unlock their potential. I truly believe that a child needs people who believe in them, and they also need someone to help them believe in themselves. I'd like to be a part of that process.
